MR Deeds: Porsche's 911 GT3 RS Gets Worked Over by Manthey Racing

Porsche's little-known tuning firm puts its touch on the 911 GT3 RS sports car.

Manthey Racing is probably the coolest skunkworks motorsports team you've never heard of. The Porsche-owned tuning firm takes the German brand's sports cars and makes them fast—really fast. Named after the company's founder, Olaf Manthey, Manthey won its class at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring six times between 2006 and 2018. But the group puts its touch on Porsche's road cars, too, and after unleashing the record-setting Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR on the world, it finally found the time to work on the 991.2 911 GT3 RS.

The 911 GT3 RS is the less powerful and less expensive (and, to our ears, better sounding) brother of the almighty GT2 RS. But the Manthey Racing kit takes the car's performance to the next level. Included in the setup is a set of three- or four-way adjustable coilovers from Manthey's racing partner KW. The setup gives the car an even more planted stance and should help iron out any bumps in the road while granting better car control.

The kit also includes new brake pads and braided brake lines and a comprehensive aerodynamics package. The aero pack includes a carbon-fiber gurney flap that sits on the rear deck (just above the engine), some canards on the front of the car, new side skirts, and a truly massive rear wing with custom mounting brackets that's sure to provide more downforce in pretty much any situation.

There is also the option for a "carbon fiber aero disk." Essentially, these discs sit on the rear wheels and smooth out the airflow over the rear of the car. There's no word on the kit's price, but a similar setup for the GT2 RS costs in excess of $100,000. In other words, it's probably safe to say these upgrades won't come cheap. Even so, the GT3 RS MR looks like one lean, mean, track-ready machine. ราคาผลบอลสด
